Red Hulk is a Marvel Comics character, also known as General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross. He first appeared in 2008's Hulk vol. 2 #1. General Ross is a career military man who has dedicated his life to serving his country. He is the father of Bruce Banner's love interest, Betty Ross.

History

Red Hulk, also known as General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. He was created by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Ed McGuinness and first appeared in Hulk vol. 2 #1 in January 2008.

Thaddeus Ross has a long history in the Marvel Comics universe, having first appeared as a military officer and nemesis of the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk #1 in May 1962. In the 2008 storyline, Ross was transformed into the Red Hulk through a process that involved absorbing gamma radiation from various sources.

As the Red Hulk, Ross possesses immense strength and durability, as well as the ability to absorb energy and project it as heat. He is also capable of regenerating from injuries and has an accelerated healing factor.

Throughout his history, the Red Hulk has been both an ally and enemy of the Hulk, as well as other heroes in the Marvel Universe.
