Morbius the Living Vampire is a Marvel Comics character created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane. The character first appeared in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #101 in 1971.
Dr. Michael Morbius was a brilliant biochemist who suffered from a rare blood disorder. He attempted to cure himself by using vampire bat DNA, but instead he transformed into a vampire-like creature with a thirst for blood.
Morbius possesses many of the traditional abilities of vampires, including superhuman strength, speed, agility, and the ability to fly. He is also immune to most forms of injury and disease, and has the ability to hypnotize others.
Despite his monstrous appearance and bloodlust, Morbius is often depicted as a tragic figure, struggling with his vampiric nature and searching for a cure to his affliction. He has been both a villain and a hero over the course of his appearances in Marvel Comics, and has been a member of various teams including the Midnight Sons and the Thunderbolts.
Morbius has also made numerous appearances in other media, including television shows and video games, and is set to star in his own feature film in 2022.
