Dr. Stephen Strange, also known as Doctor Strange, is a superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. He first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in 1963 and was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko.
Dr. Strange was once a highly successful but arrogant surgeon until a car accident left his hands permanently damaged. After exhausting all conventional treatments, he traveled to Tibet in search of a cure and encountered the Ancient One, a powerful sorcerer who became his mentor. Dr. Strange learned the mystical arts and eventually surpassed the Ancient One in skill, becoming the Sorcerer Supreme and protector of Earth against supernatural threats.
Dr. Strange possesses a vast array of magical abilities, including the ability to cast spells, manipulate energy, and enter other dimensions. He also possesses the Eye of Agamotto, an ancient artifact that grants him a number of additional powers, including the ability to see through illusions and reveal the true form of magical beings.
In addition to his formidable magical abilities, Dr. Strange is also an accomplished martial artist and skilled strategist. He has been a member of the Avengers and the Defenders, and has fought alongside many other superheroes in the Marvel universe.
Dr. Strange has been portrayed in various media adaptations, including a live-action film starring Benedict Cumberbatch in 2016 and its sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, set to be released in 2022.
